“Most agents will find at least half of their casting breakdowns consist of commercials of some kind. Never done a commercial casting before? ‘Does my behaviour seem to automatically change when I stand in front of the camera? If only I knew what they wanted. Should I have learned the script? Have I worn the wrong clothes? Did the director like me? I felt so superficial!!!’

“This Course explores the entire process including the actor’s perception of themselves and their image; how the camera perceives the actor; preparation, presentation and attitude; the different styles and types of commercial e.g. sitcom or presentational; interpretation of scripts; and understanding the relevance (or not) of The Product.

“There will also be detailed study of action memory and repetition. We deal with the importance of the storyboard, imagination and environment, and of course the pitfalls of the dreaded commercial casting.

“We will observe and discuss recent commercials and their scripts, and we will all be involved in the making of our own commercial on Day Two. This Course will give you the skills you need as an actor to enter the world of The Commercial with confidence and ability”.
